Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar is proud to announce that Press Ganey Associates, Inc. has named it a 2011 Summit Award® winner. Press Ganey currently partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities — including 50% of all U.S. hospitals — to measure and improve the quality of their care.
The Summit Award recognizes top-performing facilities that sustain the highest level of performance for three or more consecutive years. The Press Ganey Summit Award is the health care performance improvement industry’s most coveted symbol of achievement bestowed annually.
According to Linda Bindner, Director of Nurses, “Baum Harmon received the Summit Award for outstanding patient satisfaction scores in our Emergency Room for three consecutive years. The focus that had the most significant impact was the goal of meeting and exceeding patient expectations. This reflects the personal, individualized, exceptional care we provide.”
Comments received on Press Ganey Surveys support the outstanding scores.
Dave Liebsack, CEO was pleased to receive the award. “We have an excellent medical staff. Our Primary Care Providers take after hours emergency room call and respond quickly. In an emergency situation, patients are grateful to see a familiar face when they arrive in our hospital. Outstanding medical staff, excellent nurses and strong partnerships with local EMS providers create a first-rate emergency room experience at Baum Harmon.”
Press Ganey results are shared with the medical staff, nursing staff and the Board of Directors at Baum Harmon through the quality improvement processes. This allows the hospital to address issues quickly both for the patient and with the staff. Through feedback from Press Ganey Patient Surveys, Baum Harmon creates excellence in the care experience.
